Alpine Advent
3rd Alpine Advent in the Wildschönau 29th - 30th November & 6th - 7th December 2008. Silent Night and White Christmas.
The 3rd Alpine Advent has a olde worlde traditional Christmas charm which is has all but died out elsewhere. This Christmas market is long on Austrian tradition with home cooked delicacies, prepared in the wood heated oven or over an open fire, and short on commercialism. The Alpine Advent takes place in the atmospheric Z'Bach Farmer's Museum, which is festively decorated for the occasion. Tirolean culture can be experienced first hand with nativity singers, plays, christmas baking, an exhibition of handmade cribs, to mane but a few of the attractions. You reach the museum via St Francis' Path where statues have been placed dedicated to St Francis of Assisi and his Canticles to Brother Sun.
