According to original documents belonging to 'Schützen' The Wildschönau Rifles have been in existence since 1745.
Shooting companies enjoyed a long tradition in Tirol's history until the events of the 1930's and 40's put paid to them. However 40 years ago the Wildschönau Rifle Club was resurrected by founder Dr. Bruno Bachmann who claimed he had only needed to put the spark to the flame of enthusiasm for shooting sports. Since then this has been one of the most popular free time clubs in the Valley.
Their main aim is to encourage camaraderie within and outside of the company, especially amongst the other social and folklore clubs in the area and to the 4 village brass bands in the valley.
