The whole valley turned out when the Austrian President Dr. Heinz Fischer paid a short visit to the Wildschönau in August 2006.
The first official visit to the high valley included a trip to Thierbach and its tiny school (with 8 pupils!) and was followed by a sumptuous reception in the Z'Bach Farmer's Museum.
