Schönanger
The Schönanger Alm is at the end of the valley at the foot of the Wildschönau's highest mountain.
An unbelievable 2000 litres of milk daily is processed on the Schönanger Alm. A conglomerate of 25 farmers send their cattle to the Alm in the summer months and butter and in particular cheese is made here to the highest quality.
In the winter months things are a little quieter:
An insider tip is the 7 km long cross country track. For those in search of less strenuous passtimes, why not take a gentle walk through the magical winter landscape of the Schönangeralm or just top up your tan on the terrace of the Schönanger restaurant with a hot chocolate or an excellent gateaux and enjoy the alpine scenery right at the end of the valley.
The Schönangeralm is accessible by coach (no public bus service) or car but don't forget the snow chains.
