Family holiday in Wildschönau - Tyrol
The Wildschönau Dragon Club-Great fun for kids from 5 to 14.
A family holiday in the Wildschönau offers pure enjoyment in the very heart of nature.
In the Wildschönau in Tyrol we concentrate on making the most of our beautiful natural ressources. Instead of ready made playgrounds we introduce your kids to a fascinating natural world in the heart of the Alps.
Legend says that the Wildschönau Valley was once a lake, where a fearful dragon lived. A courageous peasant slew the dragon and in its death throes it bit a gorge through the mountains to Kundl in the Inn Valley and the lake emptied into the river Inn.
Nowadays the dragon is present in the Wildschönau's coat of arms and of course in the name of the popular children's programme. The Wildschönau Dragon Club offers a varied programme for kids between 5 and 14, from Monday to Friday from 8.45am to 3pm. There's a visit to the silver mine in Thierbach on the Wildschönau's little train, panning for gold on the Schatzberg mountain, a buggy ride, butter-making on a farm or bread-baking at the farmer's museum, a crazy golf contest or a barbecue on a camp fire. The supervision is free but a small charge will be made for entrance fees and bus fares.
The Wildschönau in Tyrol is well known as a fair price region especially for families. A holiday in a bed & breakfast, on a farm, in an appartment or a hotel can be booked at a surprisingly reasonable price. A holiday in the beautiful Wildschönau is both relaxing and exciting, and families are particularly welcome.
You can of course explore the Wildschönau on your own. Walking, riding, fishing, tennis or swimming are all on offer as well as rafting or paragliding and canyoning for the more adventurous. The Canadian High Rope Course, where even children (from 1.40cm height) can join in is a huge attraction.
The Wildschönau Card is an all inclusive activity card. For just € 79 per family for 6 days, you can use almost all the leisure facilities in the Valley; the open air pool, lifts, tennis courts, guided walks programme and entrance to the museum as well as the children's programme are included. The Wildschönau Card is now available for 3, 4, 5, 10 and 13 days.
