Riding in Wildschönau - Tyrol
The Wildschönau has something for horse lovers too!
A riding holiday is extremely popular especially with children. Courses are offered by two Wildschönau hotels with their own riding stables.
Get to know your horse by brushing him, saddling him and spending a little quality time with him before you make your way to the paddock or riding out with him.
The 4**** Hotel Wastlhof in Niederau offers:
professional riding instruction by qualified teachers and special riding packages, even for small children. Children of 7 and over can learn. Lessons in dressage from beginner to class L and include theory, horse care, correct seat in trot, canter and gallop. Extended hacks in the summer months through the wonderful Wildschönau scenery.
Kids under 7 can ride on the ponies anytime and under parental supervision can take short rides.
Hotel Halflingerhof 3*** in Mühltal offers hacking throughout the Wildschönau accompanied by a riding instructor. The outings can be booked on arrival. Beginner and advanced courses are available as well as children's course for 6 and overs.
Guest tournaments and overnight stays in a mountain huts can also be organised. (bring your own sleeping bag.
Both hotels have indoor riding halls and outdoor paddocks.
The Family Pension Luzenberg 3*** has four or five horses. Children can help cleaning out and feeding them. Riding for beginners is offered three times a week. Longer rides can be organised anytime for more experienced riders.
Many farms have ponies and other small farm animals to pet as well as playgrounds for the children.
