Ski Schools Diamond Jubilee

The Wildschönau Valley is the home of ski pioneers. In 1948 the first ski school was founded in the valley, quite an achievement in a time of post war poverty and an important chapter in the Tirolean history books. In 1948 the Wörgl/Wildschönau Ski School was founded by Sepp Hochmuth. Toni Seelos was the first and only ski instructor in the Wildschönau. These days over 200 ski instructors – or snow sport instructors as they prefer to be called - are employed in the high season and teach guests from all over the world. In the past 60 years the techniques and materials have changed beyond recognition and learning to ski has become much simpler.
