Almabtrieb - Homecoming Festival

Saturday, 16. September 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.

The Wildschönau Almabtrieb or cattle drive is one of the few remaining authentic festivals of it's kind in Tirol.

On the morning of the Almabtrieb, the animals are milked, their horns decorated and they are driven to the home farms in the valley.

Program of 2022

• The craft and farmer's market starts at 10:00 a.m.
• The Auffach Brass Band opens the festival with a parade.
• Live music by the Trio Klingler provides entertainment throughout the day.
• The young farmers, the farmer's market and local farmer's wives offer fresh and delicious local specialities.
• Craftsmen demonstrate ancient skills.
• Arts and Crafts corner for the kids.

Music groups will be playing at location throughout the village.

The first cows arrive at around 11:00 a.m.

Make use of the free shuttle bus that goes from Niederau, Oberau to Auffach at 10:00 and 11:00 a.m.
Return at 2:30 and 4:00 p.m.
