The Hiking World Championships organised by the Internationalen Volkssport Verbands IVV is the largest hiking event for ramblers, experts and clubs in Europe. Host of the 16th Championships is the Wildschönau Valley.
All comers are welcome at the Hiking World Championships in the Wildschönau. Every day three different walking highlights are planned all starting in the village centre of Oberau.
Participants can expect lovely walks to the most beautiful corners of the Wildschönau. The official Opening Ceremony will be a fitting start to this superlative event.

The sportsman or woman who walks the furthest during the three day World Cup is the new Hiking World Championship.
Every participant who finishes the three routes is awarded a certificate. (€ 1.50)
The different walking classes are divided into: Ladies and Men individual classes and the World Champion Team in the group class. The best individual performances usually lie around the 200 km mark.
The club whose members hike the most kilometres win the coveted Team World Champion award.
Every route counts towards the group results. Groups membership has to be named on registration.
