At the Schönanger pasture in Auffach the most delicious cheeses are produced by a master cheese maker and his crew.
On the Brixentaler Holzalm aka the Cheese Farm above Niederau the dairymen work all summer to produce excellent mountain cheeses. The process is entertainingly explained on the guided tour. The wares can be tasted and of course purchased directly from the dairy or in the Cheese Cellar in the village.
A visit to the Hintersalcherhof Farm and it's herb garden is rewarding trip. The farm lies at 700m altitude and dozens of herbs thrive here.
At the Taste of Tirol evening at the Hotel Tirolerhof in Oberau different local farmers present and sell their produce.
