This very special trip for people with lots of stamina starts at the Steinberghaus and leads via Lodron mountain down into Kelchsau. Besides the amazing idyllic and green landscape of the western Kitzbühel- Alps, this hike is special as it takes you to the Untere Lärchenbergalm, a mountain pasture where Sepp Kahn, an author, farmer, and Alpine herds- and dairyman lives. His alpine diaries offer a fascinating insight into the life and work in the mountains. Starting at the guesthouse “Steinberg”, the route first goes through a forest and then across open meadows, past the Untere Lärchenbergalm and the Oberkaralm onto Lodron- the highest point of the route. After a short rest at the summit you take the north-western path down to the traditional village of Kelchsau, past the Obere- and Untere Lodronalm and the Demmelshütte. Tour- character: Not particularly difficult but stamina needed. For kids from the age of 12.
