NEW: A path dedicated to folk songs and music

The Path of Song -  From July 2020

The Wildschönau Region is known for its zest for life and the musical talents of its residents. People here have always sung, played and danced on every occasion, in their own homes, at work or in the inns and huts around the mountains.

Countless songs were created here and passed on through generations and many are still sung today. It is important to us to successfully preserve the valley’s musical legacy.

In 2020 with this aim in mind the Oberau Male Voice Choir built the PATH OF SONGS. At 10 different stations you can get to know typical alpine folk songs and even listen to them using QR codes.

If you feel like humming or singing along - feel free!

Learn more about some of the Wildschönau’s personalities and customs at the same time.

The Oberau Male Voice Choir and the Wildschönau Tourist Board wish you lots of fun with our music!

Project with the Kitzbühel Alps Regional Management

In the course of the “Path of Songs” project, the unique songs of the Wildschönau have been scientifically prepared to the latest standard for the general public using 12 information boards.

Added value:
This makes it possible to experience traditional folk culture using the latest technology.

The Wildschönau is a valley in which customs and tradition play a major role. In the course of the “Path of Songs” project, this unique music has been prepared for the general public, locals and guests, young and old, using popular information and the latest didactic standards. On the basis of the songs and texts depicted on the boards, walkers are encouraged to read or even sing at certain spots along the way. They also have the opportunity to open a link to the recorded music using the QR codes on the oards. With a smartphone, the visitor has the opportunity to watch a film that matches the song and to listen to the music.
