Autumn in the Valley

The new Wildschönau Valley Autumn event series has many highlights in store.
From 27. September to 12. October 2024 a variety of autumn events will be taking place for the first time

The focus will be on culinary specialties and traditions as well as completely new events.

THE culinary dragon tracks from 29.09. to 12.10.2024
"Bewusst Tirol" restaurant partners showcase the variety of regional specialities.

THE alpine musical morning with a difference on 29/09/2024
Not just rousing folk music but also a cheese festival and traditional costume fashion show at the Schönanger Alm Gasthof offer both culinary and visual delights!

THE gourmet promenade by the Drachental lake
Local producers present their home-made products. Chilly music and cool drinks create a special open-air festival feeling.
Master chef Bojan Brbre from Oberau shares techniques, tips and tricks to the audience during a show cooking event.
A unique opportunity to experience the art of cooking at first hand. Dates to be announced. 2 days at the beginning of October 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

THE museum church fete 06.10.2024
The Museum Church Fete at the Z'Bach Mountain Farming Museum is one of the highlights of the autumn.
At this convivial autumn festival, there is plenty of genuine Tirolean music, specialities such as deep fried doughnuts made fresh in the old museum kitchen and, of course, a Krautinger schnapps or two.
In the afternoon the winner of the "Krautinger Schnapps of the Year 2024" will be presented.

THE Wine Festival at Café Mariandl on 12.10.2024
First-class wines can be tasted at the 1st Wildschönau Wine Festival.
With live music.

THE Day of the open distillery At the Steinerhof in Oberau.
Look over the shoulders of the Wildschönau's Krautinger distillers during the Open Distillery Days.
There is plenty to learn about the unique Wildschönau product, Krautinger schnapps.
BUT: Not all secrets of the art of distilling will be revealed! Date to be announced: 2 days in October

THE Craft Fair at the Z'Bach Farming Museum.
Every Thursday from 12 - 5 p.m. you can marvel at various handicraft techniques in the museum.
Wood carvers, wood turners, shoemakers and many others show their work. Last craft market of the season on 10 October.

THE Hiking Highlight in autumn is the Höhenweg Trophy on 12.10.2024
The high-altitude trail leads over several peaks to the Schönangeralm at the end of the valley.
There are various classifications and great cash prizes to be won!
