Markbachjoch cable car Wildschönau
The Markbachjoch lies at an altitude of 1500 metres. The ride on the 8-seater gondola lift takes just 8 minutes. The start of the hike is directly at the top station of the cable car. From there, the Rosskopf or the Feldalphorn are already in sight. For those who do not want a long hike, a walk to the Markbachjoch chapel is just the thing.
From the Markbachjoch there is a wonderful view of the Wildschönau valley, the Wilder Kaiser with its rugged mountains and the Rofan mountains.
Paragliders cavort at the launch site of the Wildschönau flying school.
Furthermore, there is a stage of the Tirolean Bike Safari and other bike routes.

Sculpture Park
The mountain lake with its art sculptures is a nearby hiking destination. A total of 30 sculptures by international artists can be viewed there. The park is idyllically situated on the reservoir and can be reached in half an hour from the top station of the Markbachjoch gondola.
Just hanging out
Specially built hammock stations promise pure relaxation and beautiful views of the mountain world.
Right now there are two hammock stations on the Markbachjoch in Niederau (behind the Markbachjoch Alm hut and on the hiking trail in the forest to the Holzalm dairy) and above the Foisching mountain restaurant in Niederau. The stations are located at beautiful vantage points.

Rest stops
The Schatzberg mountain is a place for families. Inns at the middle and top stations invite you to stop for a bite to eat.
From the top station, the Schatzberg family trail, which is also suitable for prams, winds its way over the middle station to Auffach. Children can find refreshment at the Koglmoos water playground.
The playground at the Holzalm, on the Markbachjoch Alm and at the Norderberg Alm is a must for every child!
