Holz Alm - Käse Alm

The easy path takes you from the Markbachjoch to the Holz Alm in about 40 minutes. The Alm is the second largest in the area at 1,400 metres above sea level.

Walkers can enjoy the breathtaking views of the Hohe Salve and the Wilder Kaiser mountain range from the terrace of the hut from May to mid October. Enjoy fresh alpine dairy products.

The alm belongs to 18 local farmers whose cows spend the summer months. A total of 150 cows are kept in the most modern cow barn the Tirol. The cheeses can also be bought in the Kaskeller in Niederau every Friday from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. and every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

In winter, the "Kaskeller" in Niederau is open Fridays from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
