The starting point is the Schatzbergbahn cable car. From here, cycle south and soon turn right into the Aschbach valley (follow the signs for "Schatzbergrunde"). The asphalt road becomes a forest road, passing the alpine pastures until you reach the Grasingalm. The view becomes more impressive with every bend. You can park your bike at the Grasingalm. Continue on foot along a slope with a gentle incline, keeping the Joel peak constantly in view. In the early summer months, the alpine roses create a true explosion of color. Upon reaching the so-called Sternboden (where the cotton grass glows as if the ground were full of stars), the path turns south. A moderate incline, becoming slightly steeper towards the end, leads to the Joelspitze summit. At the top, you can admire the panoramic views in all directions – as well as the beautiful, carved statue of Mary.
