Here to stay
In some places, you’ll cross the babbling stream via bridges in the sunny countryside; at other times, you can build cairns right by the stream in the cool forest. The view changes, too: Views of gentle grassy hills like the nearby Markbachjoch or Kragenjoch alternate with rugged peaks like the Gratlspitze or Großer Beil in the distance, and the view of Niederau from above is included.
Your children can run like the wind, and at the new rest areas, time doesn’t matter—which means you can enjoy 4.3 kilometers of relaxed family time.
Adventure spot DRAGON
At the first stop above Niederau, you'll find a dragon head, a climbing net shaped like dragon wings, an XL swing that lets you fly like a dragon, and much more.
Hold your hands in the shallow water at the water's edge until they're thoroughly chilled, and then place them on a warm rock or hold them up to the sun.
Can you feel the difference in temperature? Heat can be transferred—an fascinating natural phenomenon.
Adventure spot XL-Climbing wall
At the second stop, halfway along the trail, you'll find an XL climbing wall with bouldering holds. Here, you can work on your motor skills while your parents relax and enjoy the great view of Niederau.
The village of Niederau lies right in front of you. From up here, it looks quite peaceful, even though there’s a bustle of activity down in the village. Isn’t it beautiful how our village blends into the landscape? Above it lie meadows, like carpets, and beyond them patches of forest—all harmoniously integrated into the gentle chain of hills that make up our Grasberge. In the very background, you can see the Hohe Salve and the Wilder Kaiser.
Adventure spot XL-Stone carin by the stream
At the third spot along the Zaglerbach stream, above the z’Bach Mountain Farm Museum, you can let your creativity run wild building a stone cairn. An XL stone cairn serves as your model. Parents can enjoy watching from the rest area platform. On warm days, the stream is there to cool you off.
Building a stone cairn is a peaceful, enjoyable way to play. Look for stones, stack them on top of each other, and feel the cold, wet stones in your hands. Take a break
On the large W-shaped bench above the stream, you can relax and watch the children build their stone cairn while observing the sunlight as it gently filters through the leaves. Our resting spot by the stone cairn is located right on the Wildenbach, a tributary—or section—of the Wildschönauer Ache.
