Tobogganing in the Wildschönau

The Lanerköpfl run, for example, takes you past the rustic Gseng and Lahner alpine pastures to Niederau - a speedy descent to thrill even experienced tobogganists! The Schatzberg toboggan run starts at the middle station of the gondola lift and leads through the forest to Auffach. Both runs are easily accessible by lift and promise great fun in the snow.

Schatzberg in Auffach and Lanerköpfl in Niederau
The five km Schatzberg toboggan run starts at the middle station of the Schatzberg gondola lift. You have the choice between the family run and the more difficult run, both of which lead through the forest to Auffach.
The Lanerköpfl toboggan run on the Markbachjoch is a thrilling descent. It is five kilometres from the top station of the Lanerköpflbahn to Niederau, past the rustic Gseng and Lahner Alm.
The toboggan runs have been awarded the Tirolean toboggan runs seal of quality.
Good to know: You can also enjoy sledging down the mountain at night in the Wildschönau. In Roggenboden in Oberau, you are taken up the slope by drag lift by floodlight - and then speed down again on the piste.
Our tip: You will find toboggans for hire at the local rental stores - practical and ideal for a spontaneous tobogganing adventure!
Night tobogganing
Not only during the day, but also at night, tobogganing is a nice leisure activity. Night tobogganing by floodlight takes place twice a week at the Apparthotel Talhof.
The toboggans are not conventional toboggans but special designs with runners. The toboggans are hooked onto the drag lift, which brings the tobogganists comfortably to the starting point. The wide downhill slope is one kilometre long and is covered with snow for unadulterated snow fun! Please note the current operating times.
