Support for nature conservation associations and conventions
The Wildschönau Tourism Association is a partner and supporter of the following initiatives and organizations:
Energy from Wildschönau
All infrastructure facilities (tourist office, swimming pool, tennis court, building yard, etc.) of the Wildschönau Tourist Association are supplied with electricity by the local energy provider Elektro Stadler. Most of this energy is generated from local hydropower.
Tyrolean Mountain Rescue Service – protecting nature!
The Tyrolean Mountain Rescue Service is a public corporation, and its sworn mountain rescuers are public supervisory authorities. We are committed to volunteering for nature conservation in Tyrol by monitoring compliance with state laws, raising awareness, and encouraging people to treat nature with respect.
Tyrolean Mountain Rescue ServiceThe Alpine Convention
The Alpine Convention is a trailblazer for sustainable living in the Alps and, as the first international treaty on sustainable development and the protection of an entire mountain range, a pioneer of its kind.
Responsible use of the natural environment
The Wildschönau Tourism Association dedicates a number of working hours throughout the year to the maintenance and preservation of the Wildschönau recreation area. In the case of major repairs and redesigns, we take particular care to ensure that any interventions are carried out in consultation with the nature conservation authorities so that nature can continue to preserve its original character.
Infrastructure measures
Building materials used for the ongoing maintenance of cycle paths, hiking trails, rest areas, and similar facilities are sourced almost exclusively from Tyrolean companies. This ensures that a large proportion of the added value remains in the region and that transport distances are kept short.
Water is life!
The region enjoys the best drinking water. Natural springs in the mountains ensure excellent water quality.
The municipality of Wildschönau is making extensive efforts to ensure the water supply.
Let's work together to use this valuable resource carefully!
Lights out - shooting stars on!
Concept for reducing light pollution
• All public street lights are equipped with energy-saving LED lights. From 10 p.m. onwards, the lamps are reduced to 25% of their luminosity.
• Similarly, the lighting for the Alpine Coaster in the Drachental family park and the lighting for the Franziskusweg trail, which is accessible all year round, feature LED lights with insect-friendly bulbs.
• Christmas lighting: in public spaces, subtle and traditional lighting is used, without bright or flashing lights.
• Night lighting for activities such as sledding, tennis, and coaster rides is reduced to a minimum: sledding twice a week, tennis only for special events, coaster rides in Drachental once a week.
