The hikes through the wintry Wildschönau with our guides offer interesting insights and all kinds of local knowledge about the region and its people. On easy to moderate tours, our experienced hiking guides accompany you through the snow-covered landscape - both on cleared paths and cross-country. In addition to the guided winter hikes, we also offer varied snowshoe hikes through the Wildschönau. If you prefer to explore the natural landscape under the clear winter sky, you can also take part in a night hike with a headlamp or torch.

Guided walks
Discover an unforgettable winter hike through the snow-covered landscape of Niederau!
Hiking guide Rainer will lead you on an adventurous tour lasting around two hours. Equipped with headlamps, you will make your way through the quiet, peaceful winter wonderland at night in good snow conditions.
Even in winter there is plenty to discover! In the woods and meadows, the first herbs, buds and trees are preparing for spring. This hike is a wonderful opportunity to experience nature with all your senses.
A little time out - we explore the wintry silence and untouched snowy landscapes. Gerlinde leads you on this sporty tour to the well-known Holzalm, which is sleepy in winter, and a special place shrouded in legend. A stop for refreshments is possible afterwards.
We end the day with a peaceful hike by candlelight. On this loop at the edge of the forest above Oberau, we enjoy the magic of the night and a relaxed end to the day. Afterwards, we can stop for refreshments together.
Where foxes and hares say good night to each other, we set off and immerse ourselves in the winter landscape. Depending on the weather and snow conditions, we read animal tracks, take a closer look at the snow, and enjoy this remote corner with the highest mountains in the high valley. The tour route will be adapted to the respective snow conditions. Afterwards, we will stop for refreshments at the Schönanger inn.
Today we are hiking to the Foisching inn. It is not only the view and the sun terrace that make this place so special. We will switch to a horse carriage and let Simon and Fritz pull us up on the mountain. At “Ossis Little Canada,” we visit the red deer herd and enjoy homemade hot drinks and the peace and quiet in the warm hut. Afterwards, we can stop for refreshments at the inn before heading back down into the valley together.

No snowshoe hike without suitable walking boots, these are an absolute must. If available, bring shoe spikes.
