High Trail Trophy
This hiking and trail running event follows the Wildschönau High Trail from Niederau to the Schönangeralm in Auffach. The routes are physically demanding, pass traditional alpine huts, and offer breathtaking panoramic views – in the end, it’s all about the fastest time!
In 2026, the High Trail Trophy will be extended to two days for the first time:
Friday, October 2nd
The race weekend kicks off with an uphill mountain sprint. Over an intense distance of 3 kilometers, participants face a steep ascent – short, sharp, and challenging.
Saturday, October 3rd
The classic High Trail Trophy enters its next round. Trail runners can look forward to a new route extension: up to 30 kilometers along the high trail – physically demanding, varied, and set in a truly unique alpine landscape.
Uphill Sprint (Friday)
The uphill sprint starts at the valley station of the Markbachjoch cable car in Niederau and leads up to the Rübezahl Hut, located directly at the mountain station.
