Summer Solstice

Solstice Fire at Markbachjoch on June 21, 2025

On Saturday, June 20th, 2026, the traditional solstice fire will take place at Markbachjoch in Niederau. The Markbachjochbahn cable car will be operating from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on this evening. The solstice fire will be lit at around 8:30 p.m. at dusk. From the Markbachjoch, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the solstice fires in the surrounding mountains.

The mountain huts will be open and offering food and drinks.

Note:
Season and annual passes are valid. The Wildschönau (Premium) Card and other guest cards are not valid.
