Torchlight Hike along the Wildschönau St. Francis Trail

When winter silence settles in and the glow of torches lights the way, the Wildschönau St. Francis Trail reveals a truly special kind of magic. The starting point is the Mountain farming museum z’Bach. From there, the hike follows the St. Francis Trail into the centre of Oberau. Once again this year, lovingly designed, illuminated display cases by the Wildschönau Nativity Scene Friends line the route, inviting visitors to pause, reflect and marvel at their detailed nativity figures. "There is once again much that is beautiful and extraordinary to discover," says chairman Thomas Breitenlechner.

The hike is accompanied by contemplative texts, read by Wildschönau religious education teacher Elisabeth Schellhorn, adding depth to the experience and encouraging reflection.

After the hike, the evening traditionally concludes with a cosy gathering at the Landhotel Tirolerhof. A small surprise awaits participants as well.

The event is organised in cooperation with the Catholic Women’s Movement, the Catholic Education Centre Niederau and the Wildschönau Nativity Scene Friends.
