Tratzberg Castle

Let yourself be enchanted and experience history at first hand!

Schloss Tratzberg Innenhof | © Schloss Tratzberg

In addition to the tried and tested audio tour (in nine languages), you can experience 500 years of castle history live with the unique 360° virtual reality tour. See with your own eyes how the former stronghold of Emperor Maximilian I fell victim to a fire in 1492, only to become the famous Renaissance jewel that has since towered over the Tyrolean Inn Valley near Schwaz.

Afterwards, with an audio guide, former lords of the castle, such as the Fuggers, will guide you "personally" through the original furnished rooms and armouries. Discover hidden secret doors, marvel at the famous Habsburg Hall and learn how history was made here - and still is, as Tratzberg is still the residence of the count Goëss-Enzenberg.

A special highlight is the recently restored Renaissance painting in the magnificent inner courtyard. The artistic murals can be admired during a guided tour of the castle.

A fairytale experience for the whole family

For children, there are fairytale tours in four languages with knights, secret doors, Sleeping Beauty's spinning wheel and more! There are also great prizes to be won in the knights' quiz.

The Tratzberg Express train takes you and your family through the romantic forest up to the castle and after a turbulent journey through time back down to the valley. The Schlosswirt with its beer garden and children's playground offers regal delights and the perfect end to a fairytale experience.

The Tratzberg Express takes you through the fairytale forest towards the castle, where a great highlight is already waiting for its visitors. The unique 360° virtual reality tour transports visitors back to times long past and helps them discover 500 years of history up close and in 3D!

During the subsequent guided tour, it quickly becomes clear that the palace was created to showcase wealth and luxury. This is reflected in the spacious rooms, the wide corridors, the exquisite furnishings and the use of the finest materials. Right at the beginning of the guided tour, Tratzberg Castle comes up trumps with a real highlight: the magnificent inner courtyard with its noble Renaissance painting, which was recently restored. Another "treasure" is the Habsburg Hall. The Habsburg family tree, captured in wall paintings, impresses with 148 half-life-size figures and extends over four walls.

Tratzberg Castle offers an exciting guided tour for children. The young visitors cab discover the castle's history in a fairytale version, meet a real knight, the castle ghost Tratzi and his mouse friend Adele. At the end of the tour, an exciting quiz awaits the children.

After the tour, a stop at the Schlosswirt is a good idea. Enjoy Austrian culinary delights prepared by the chef in the cosy guest garden. The spacious children's playground is a highlight, especially for younger visitors, who can let off some steam after their tour of the castle.

NEW: Digital tours Discover secret staircases, magnificent rooms and hidden treasures completely digitally and bring the magic of Tratzberg directly into your home!
