This easy hike starts in Oberau and leads towards the Achentalalm snack bar. From there, the trail branches off to the left and climbs uphill to the Steinrinn Grotte.
The route continues along moderately steep paths to the summit cross of the Kragenjoch. The Kragenjoch may seem rather unassuming at first glance, but it rewards hikers early on with a surprisingly expansive panorama. The ascent follows gentle paths past lush alpine meadows and the flowering slopes of the limestone mountain. Along the way, there are frequent views of the Wildschönau mountains and far into the head of the valley. The descent initially leads downhill past the Georg Chapel and back to the Achentalalm area.
At the alpine pasture, keep left and hike via the Bemberger Joch back to the starting point in Oberau.
