Five weekly guided walks are offered in the winter season. Our guides Walter Naschberger, Rainer Schoner and Sonja Seisl take nature lovers through the snowy Wildschönau Valley.
We begin on Tuesday with an easy tour for novice snowshoe trekkers beginning in Oberau - meeting point is the Alpenhotel Wildschönau next to the Tourist Office. We cross the deep snowfields passed ancient farmhouses to Zauberwinkl with guide Walter Naschberger.
If the snow in the valley starts to melt, we graduate to the top of the Markbachjoch Mountain. Far away from the ski pistes we find perfect peace and quiet.
On Wednesday Sonja Seisl accompanies you to the lovely Foisching Hut high above Niederau. No snow shoes today but please wear good winter walking boots.
Thursday we're back on our snow shoes for a trek around the village of Auffach with our guide Walter
Every Friday we strap on our walking boots and starting in Oberau we make our way via Roggenboden to Auffach. After a stop at the Gasthof Weißbacher we get the bus back to the start.
A very popular addition to our program is the evening snowshoe walk with expert Rainer Schoner. We provide the headlamps so that you can enjoy this new experience to the full.
The winter walking program is included in your WildschönauCard.
