"Schmalznudeln"
Preparation

Recipe for 6 persons
- 500g plain wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 packet dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/8 to 1/4 liter lukewarm milk
- 2 teaspoons melted butter or sunflower oil
- 2 eggs
- A little rum
- Clarified butter or good sunflower oil for baking
Cooking steps
- Beat all the ingredients well to form a dough, cover and leave to rest for 30 minutes.
- Make round dumplings on a floured work surface and leave to rise again for 30 minutes.
- Pull out from the center to form a hollow and fry in hot fat.
- Cabbage, bean soup or cranberry jam go perfectly with "Schmalznudeln".
