The new Wood path
The Holzweg path in Wildschönau takes you through nature and history: from the Wildschönauer Ache stream, past nesting boxes, bees and picket fences, to the woodcutter’s hut, sound station, mills and viewing tower. Rocks, streams, the scent of wood and old tools offer a glimpse into life in the valley in days gone by – a family-friendly adventure trail. You’ll be amazed at all there is to see. The Holzweg is a circular walk. The starting point is the wooden bridge opposite the Timber Museum. During your subsequent visit to the Timber Museum, you can discover many interesting facts about wood.
Out and about with the pushchair
Both in the valley and up in the mountains, there are plenty of pushchair-friendly paths that invite you to explore the area with babies and toddlers.
Small but mighty: that sums up the idyllic Auenweg Niederau perfectly, as this short, leisurely walk enchants the whole family. The picturesque route along a small stream is a delight for young and old alike, and you can enjoy the magnificent view of the Markbachjoch hiking peak from the benches along the way. What’s more, the playground halfway along the route offers little hikers plenty of adventurous fun.
The Franziskusweg between Oberau and Niederau is both suitable for pushchairs and accessible. This leisurely walking trail from Niederau to Oberau offers plenty of variety along the way.
