Museums are not boring
The Wood Museum in the centre of Auffach brings the natural material to life. On more than 2,000 square metres, a unique labyrinth leads through 39 rooms full of exciting showpieces made of wood. From the Pumuckl tree hut to the traditional factory where visitors can try their hand at carving their own wood – the wood museum delights young and old alike.
Discover the World of WoodMaking honey candles and cutting out wooden figures with a saw are on the agenda on Thursdays at the Z'Bach Farming Museum. Children who in the Dragon Club can help bake bread. Admission to the museum is included in the Wildschönau Card.

At the Holzalm on the Markbachjoch in Niederau, children can watch the cheese makers at work. Of course, you can also taste the delicious cheese. Fresh buttermilk is available on the terrace of the alpine hut. Guided tours take place every Tuesday and Thursday in summer. The cheese tour lasts 1.5 hours. There is a playground next door.
The easy hiking trail through the forest is easy for children.
Meet your animal neighbors at the Foisching deer park
In the deer park above the Foisching snack bar, you can observe deer and roe deer up close - a worthwhile stop, especially for families. After marveling at the fascinating wild animals, you can explore the Tyrolean high valley at a leisurely pace on the family hiking trail.
On horseback
Girls love ponies. Even for older children, happiness on earth can be found on horseback. For children who love horses and want to ride on vacation, riding lessons are available at the Haflingerhof and Wastlhof riding hotels.

While feeding the 3 goats together, Babsi tells interesting and exciting stories about these wonderful animals. After getting to know each other, everyone goes for a walk in the countryside. Enjoy the time together.
Finally, the children spend time with the rabbits and guinea pigs.
