High Trail Trophy Wildschönau
October 2nd & 3rd, 2026
The High Trail Trophy hiking and trail running event leads along the Wildschönau High trail from Niederau to the Schönangeralm in Auffach. The routes are physically demanding, pass rustic alpine huts, and offer breathtaking views - but in the end, it's the fastest time that counts!

In 2026, the High Trail Trophy will be extended to two days for the first time:
On Friday, October 2nd, the race weekend will start with an uphill mountain sprint. The route is steep and short, covering 3 intense kilometers.
On Saturday, October 3rd, the usual Höhenweg Trophy will enter its next round: There is a new route extension for trail runners: Up to 30 kilometers can be covered along the Höhenweg – athletically challenging, varied, and scenically unique. There is also something new for hikers this year: in addition to the individual classification and the 3-person team classification, a 2-person team classification will be offered for the first time. This means that hiking enthusiasts can compete alone, in teams of 2 or in teams of 3. In the team classifications, the time of the last team member to arrive counts.

Complete safety equipment must be worn in order to participate. Mandatory equipment will be checked upon entering the start area and may also be checked at random after crossing the finish line.

- Gressensteinalm 16.5 km (only for summit trail): Water, isotonic drinks, fruit, salty & sweet snacks

Mountain rescue services are on site to ensure safety on the route. It is also recommended that you install the emergency app and save the number 140.
