The TAL Herbst Wildschönau series of events has a number of highlights in store once again.

The Wildschönau Valley Autumn series of events has a number of highlights in store once again. Next year, the series of events will take place from mid-September to mid-October 2026, featuring a wide range of autumn events. 

The focus will be on cuisine and customs, but also on completely new aspects.

Autumn offers a special variety of culinary delights. 
The “Kulinarische Drachenspuren” (Culinary Dragon Trails) offer true treats for the palate. From beetroot specialties to hearty meat dishes and vegan options, pure enjoyment awaits. 

The Valley Autumn Wildschönau offers a varied program. 

• The Alpine Music Festival on September 4th and 5th, 2026, marks the atmospheric start of the Valley Autumn 2026. Look forward to two days full of rousing sounds from outstanding music groups.                
                       
• A festive spectacle that keeps farming traditions alive awaits you on September 19th, 2026, at the traditional Almabtrieb cattle drive in Auffach. Magnificently decorated cows make their way down from the alpine pastures into the valley, accompanied by music and regional delicacies. Another small Almabtrieb cattle drive with a festive program takes place in Thierbach at the fire station.
   
• The "Weisenblasen" on the chatzberg is an annual fixture that combines music, nature, and tradition. After the mountain mass, groups of brass musicians accompany the hikers with their sounds before the joint finale at Koglmoos in the afternoon.
   
• At the end of September, the Steinerhof opens its doors for an open house at the distillery, where you can experience the fascinating world of herb distilling up close. At lunchtime, visitors can enjoy a diverse selection of regional delicacies.
   
• A slightly different Alpine brunch with cheese festival will take place at the Schönangeralm.      
                 
• The gourmet promenade in the Drachental family park will take place on two dates in 2026 and promises to be a real highlight. Two Wildschönau chefs invite you to taste their delicacies, while local producers offer their products at stands. Music, cool drinks, and wine and beer tastings create an open-air atmosphere. Bands provide musical entertainment. Admission is free.    
                                                           
• For many years, the Museumskirchtag at the Mountain Farm Museum has been a must-see event. On October 4th, visitors can expect a varied program of events with Tyrolean folk music. Farmers and Krautinger distillers will also be offering homemade products and specialties. The Museumskirchtag has been awarded the Green Event Tirol basic certification!   
   
• The High Trail Trophy marks the end of the Valley autumn season. The hiking challenge leads along the Wildschönauer High trail to the Schönangeralm and is the ideal opportunity to end the hiking season with an unforgettable highlight. 

                                                                              
 

Autumn is a wonderful time for hiking in the mountains.
The air is clearer, visibility seems to be wider and the bright colors of the leaves are beautiful to look at.  

The Markbachjoch cable car in Niederau is the easiest way to get up the mountain. The cable car is in operation until October 19, 2025 and is included in the Wildschönau Premium Card.  The card also includes the hiking bus to the popular Schönangeralm hiking starting point.
Guided hikes take place until Ocotober 17, 2025. Many mountain huts and restaurants are also open in the fall.
